How it all started

In 1998, our founder, Michael Dempsey, was just another small business owner in Brisbane with two childcare centres, grappling with the same challenges that countless others face every day: chasing late payments, spending hours on manual reconciliation and feeling bogged down by complex financial admin. He knew there had to be a simpler, more automated way to manage payments.

So, he created one.

That simple idea — to give Australian businesses a straightforward way to automate their revenue — was the start of Ezidebit. We began with a powerful direct debit solution and have since grown into a complete, multi-faceted payments provider, but our core mission has never changed.
